Domain Name Registration

Also known as your URL, in other words your website address. If you don’t already have one you may want to have several names in mind because someone else may have beaten you to it!


There is also the question of which extension to have:

•

.co.uk - this registration is for 2 years after which you have the option to renew again at 2 year intervals and it shows that it is a UK registration.

•

.com – is usually more expensive and is only for one year at a time, you also have no idea where in the world that it is registered.

•

.org can be .org.uk often used by non profit making bodies and individuals.

•

.net another alternative

There are no fixed rules as to which one you choose.

Website Design

This is the fun bit, how do you want your website to look? You may know exactly what you want and so we develop your idea into a workable website, on the other hand you may not so we talk it through with you and reach whatever suits you best.

From our point of view it is important that however good the website looks we make sure that the design is stable and the site is easy to navigate and therefore user friendly. We don’t want your potential clients getting lost and in sheer frustration and shooting off to another website.


Optimisation for Search Engines

While we are still in the early stages of the design we are also looking at the keywords, best used to describe what you do to make it easier for your potential clients to find you and your geographical location, all of this we want to get into the text on the page because the search engines such as Google and Yahoo will find it much easier to rate and categorise your site.

The search engines tend to send their spiders out to crawl your site at least once a month, once they have you in their sights.

At the same time we make sure that we do everything possible to make the behind the scenes bit of your website as search engine friendly as possible.

Depending on what your business is and how competitive your market, it may be advisable to go further and consider running Adwords and Pay per Click to boost your ratings and get your site higher up the rankings, that is an option for some businesses but not necessarily all of them. We always discuss and explain whatever measures seem applicable to you.
Hosting
Once we have sorted out all the details and we have the finished article ready to launch, you then need some space on the World Wide Web in which to display it to the world at large. That is where Hosting comes in. In short you buy or rent space much like traditional advertising but this isn’t nearly so expensive and potentially reaches a much wider audience. This is all part of our service to you which leads seamlessly on to Administration and Maintenance.
Administration and Maintenance
Once the website is up and running we keep an eye on it to see that it is performing for you as it should and you might like to make changes and update the information on your website on a regular basis or just occasionally, that is fine again it is part of the package and our service to you.
